Presentation of the "Police 2020" Initiative
On the occasion of the BKA Autumn Conference, Mr. Thomas de MAIZIÈRE, Federal Minister of the Interior, and Mr. Holger MÜNCH, BKA President, presented the initiative entitled "Police 2020". This initiative aims to further improve the information management of the German police, also in a European law enforcement context, and to put the existing information systems on a new basis in order to create optimum conditions for policing at Federal and Länder level. At the same time, this modernisation is an essential prerequisite for the technological implementation of the data protection provisions laid down in the new BKA Act.
